Super-shoes

What makes a super-shoe, and who should wear one.

A super-shoe combines four things: very resilient foam (usually PEBA), a stiff plate, a high stack and a rocker.

Together they save energy at race pace. That's why most road records since 2017 were set in them.

They're expensive and the foam wears faster, so most runners keep them for races and a few key sessions.

Race in them, train in something else.
