Shoe rotation
Why two pairs beat one.
Many runners rotate two or three pairs: a cushioned shoe for easy days, a lighter one for faster sessions, a racer for race day.
A large study found that runners who alternated shoes had a lower injury risk than those who always ran in the same pair.
Each pair also lasts longer, so a rotation doesn't cost much more over a year.
Different sessions, different shoes.
