Stability and pronation
Do you need a stability shoe?
Pronation is the normal inward roll of the foot after landing; it absorbs impact. Some runners roll in more than others.
Stability shoes guide the foot with firmer foam on the inside, a wider base or raised sidewalls.
Research suggests that choosing the shoe that feels most comfortable is a better guide than labels. Test both on the treadmill: your body notices.
Comfort first. If a neutral shoe feels wobbly late in a run, try a stable one.
