Running drills
Ten minutes that teach your legs.
Drills exaggerate parts of the running stride: skipping with high knees, heel flicks towards the glutes, bounding, and straight-leg runs.
Do 2–3 of them for 20–30 metres, two or three times each, after an easy run or as part of a warm-up, once or twice a week.
Finish with a few relaxed strides of 15–20 seconds, building speed smoothly. Quality over quantity: stop when form fades.
Short, sharp and relaxed: drills, then strides.
Quick check .
When should you stop a drill?
Quality over quantity: 2–3 drills over 20–30 metres.
