At easy paces you can breathe however feels natural. As effort rises, breathe through mouth and nose together: you need the air.
Some runners like to link breathing to steps, for example in for three steps and out for three at easy pace, or two and two when it's harder. It's a tool for calm, not a rule.
Side stitch is common and harmless. Avoid big meals and very sugary drinks just before running; if it appears, slow down, breathe deeply and press on the spot or bend forward a little.
Breathe deep, breathe relaxed, slow down if it stitches.
